To compliment our home-educating & flexi-educating approach we have our
Dandelion DEN:
The sessions are managed by qualified teachers who create exciting days in the wilderness of our Aylsham 4.5 acre wood and within the grounds of Eaton vale activity centre. Children are free to choose from a range of planned activities, or to engage in child-led/self-directed activities.
For Ages
5-8
In the Dandelion Den we focus on:
Emotional literacy
Developing risk awareness
Physical development
Executive functioning skills
Promoting emotional well being
The Dandelion Den takes place every week during term times at our Aylsham site on the following days:
Tuesdays AYLSHAM DEN 9am- 2pm
Aylsham Den meets in our Dandelion 4.5 acre wood for 3 weeks each month; the 4th week at Aylsham Den is Uprooted.
For the Aylsham Uprooted sessions we meet in a location, not too far from site, and the session takes place there. We have been to places such as East Runton beach and Sheringham park.
The Norwich Den is moving to an exciting new home! The Friday Den has been temporarily suspended at Eaton but will return in a new exciting location!
Sessions:
The sessions run during term time, you can register to attend one, two or all three sessions. Fees are paid monthly.
As the sessions are not within a fence it is important that children have a degree of self regulation.
Uprooted:
Families are sent the details of the meeting place the week before.
Staff go to the site and fully risk assess beforehand as well as on arrival.
Staffing:
Staff are DBS checked and thoroughly Dandelion trained. They are experienced working with a vast age range of children.
Activities include:
Philosophy sessions
Creative and critical thinking / problem solving
Crafts
Den building
Fire making
Tool use
Cooking (COVID dependent)
Food:
We provide brunch and we ask families to send a packed lunch and drinking water.
Sharing the session:
The sessions are recorded on Tapestry (online learning journal) so families can see the photos at the end of the session.
