Dandelion Education Ltd is a place where children grow and flourish, via exploration of the natural environment, under the skilled guidance and support of a team led by founders: Hayley Room and Emma Harwood.

As Emma and Hayley sat drinking tea in 2013, under a flowering magnolia tree, they dreamt of a perfect learning environment for children.

This dream became Dandelion Education Ltd.

PHILOSOPHY FOR CHILDREN
P4C is an approach to teaching and learning; it teaches children how to think and communicate well; to think for themselves, about themselves, others and the world around them.
Dandelion has been proudly awarded a bronze kitemark, by Sapere, demonstrating our dedicated quality approach to P4C practice throughout our setting. We are the only Early Years organisation in Norfolk/Suffolk to have been awarded this.
At Dandelion Education, we believe that ALL children should be taught how to think, and not what to think.

The warmth and care we bring to all our nursery sessions is unique. We offer all our learners regular opportunities to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in our beautiful, environmentally rich, Norfolk setting.

AN EDUCATION REFORM
Age 4-5 is too young for children to begin formalised learning. At Dandelion, we advocate deferring your child’s entry into school by spending at least their reception year with us. We also advocate flexi-educating children, whether this is for their Reception year or beyond. Many of our nursery children stay to flexi-educate with us, though children also join us later too!

Most conventional schools struggle with resourcing and funding and struggle to provide a fully play-based child-led curriculum. The excessive testing regime is also having a detrimental effect on the health and well-being of our children; the autonomy of schools is being eroded.
